Why
Continuing Education is required..
TDLR
approved continuing education
(CE) hours will be required to
renew a cosmetology license
that expires on or after
September 1, 2006. The hours
required must be completed
within the term of the license
being renewed. For example, if
a license expires on September
15, 2006, the hours must have
been completed between
September 15, 2004 and
September 15, 2006. For a late
renewal, the continuing
education courses must have
been completed within the two
year period immediately prior
to the date of renewal.
Licensees may not receive
continuing education credit
for attending the same course
more than once for one renewal
period. Further, licensees
must retain a copy of the
certificate of completion for
a course for two year after
the date of completion. In
conducting any inspection or
investigation of the licensee,
the Department may examine the
licensee’s records to
determine compliance.
